Dana Robb's Goals & Projects for 2014

January – finish compiling home videos and produce a dvd for the past 2 years. One dvd for each year.  It’s been on the to do list for a long time. And now it’s gonna happen.

February – One month of romance. A few years ago I did this and was amazed at how much it impacted my marriage. I’ve been wanting to bring that focus back and here’s the perfect opportunity. I will do one romantic act-big or small-each day for the month. Plus, as a couple, we started reading The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work. It’s taken a year to read the first 14 pages, and I’m committed to finishing it together within the month.

March – We’ve talked about becoming more involved with Family History and I want to devote this month to doing at least ½ hour a day. It might be me, my husband, or my kids that does the half hour, but at least someone will be participating daily.

April – It’s a month of birthdays. Three of my four kids have birthdays this month, so the focus will be cakes and parties.

May – I’m really planning to start this right away, but will report on it this month. I’ve been reading Piggy Back Rides and Slippery Slides. It’s all about how important play is for our kids. I’ve thought how I’m always more focused on work and never taking time to engage in the playing that my kids are involved in. This month I’m going to spend at least 10 minutes a day playing with my kids. Nothing formal planned, just finding those opportunities to stop what I’m doing and engage with them in whatever is interesting them.

June – Last year at the end of our “family school” year, we held an art show and night of performances. I’d love to focus on that again, helping my boys prepare presentations of what they’ve learned and inviting family to come share with us.

July – Another repeat of last year. We are going to discover 4 new hikes. One a week. I’d also love to join Nora on the Full moon Antelope Island bike ride-hoping to convince my kiddoes.

August – For August I want to focus on food. Not eating more, but exploring more recipes, eating more fresh, cutting out more meat and dairy.

September – This is my month to become a certified Yoga Instructor. Something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time.

October – I’d love to get my boys to join me for a month of rock climbing, one of my favorite activities. Nora, how did you guess? I saw that on your email and thought, yes! I’ve been actually thinking of it for a while and now I’ve found the place for it.

November – Hmm. still thinking.

December – We are planning to have a family service project monthly. Or at least 12 for the year. This month I will report on what we did and what we learned.
