Marcy Muren, January, Antigravity and some cleaning furry

Hi my name is Marcy, I know Nora from church/ neighborhood in West Jordan. This is my first Blog, so please excuse my tardiness and lack of knowing what to write or publish.

Just a little about me: I'm from Southern California and came up to Utah to go to BYU. I'm still here after 20+ years. I received my degree in a Theater And Film with added emphasis in Dance and Music. I have 3 girls (ages16,14,11) and 1 boy (age 7). I work part time as a Jazzercise Instructor and also volunteer at my kids charter school (Entheos) teaching dance. I'm also on the West Jordan Theater Board and do a lot of the choreography for their shows. My new favorite hobby has been doing digital art on Draw Something 2 and Sketchclub. I'm on Instagram under MARCYM0USE.

My goal for January was to try some new Fitness styles and get in better shape. I tried Antigravity Yoga at Imagination Place ( in Salt Lake City) and have done it 3 times. Very fun and also very hard and relaxing. I was going to try and run with my 14 year old with her soccer team at the Olympic Oval but that didn't pan out. So Jazzercise is still my main fitness that I do and love. This fall will be my 5th year anniversary of teaching it :)

An ongoing goal for the whole year is to clean up my house and try to keep it clean. January I started with my bedroom ( the black hole of clutter over the years), then I added my master bathroom for February. The goal is to keep each room clean as well as the added rooms each month. Progressively I will be cleaning more and keeping more rooms tidy. With 4 kids (5 if you count my husband) the house gets messy quickly. So I figure I need to stay on top of it as best as I can and not expect perfection. So far so good, and for March I'm adding my closet ( half way done ). The trick has been to declutter and reduce. We all have to much stuff? Right?

Not all my goals will be about fitness and health, but February's goal ended up being me giving up sugar ( for the year and hopefully forever ). Sugar is in everything so I decided that 5 to 10 grams of sugar per serving is the MAX. I have struggled with my sugar addiction over the years and gained back my 40 pounds I lost a couple of years back doing Atkins :(  So far I have lost 12 pounds and I made a deal with my husband if I lose the 40 lbs this year we are going to Hawaii!!! Wish me luck :)

Great first blog post. And way to start decluttering a house. It's a tough to not keep things (hoard), especially if you grow up with not much. I can help with pictures but show us a clean closet and you'll have me swooning. Welcome

Nora, I tried attaching a pic and it said something about G+ app. Do I need to download something to my iPad ?

Hi Marcy! Dejunking is one of my favorite hobbies :). I'm not kidding. My sister Kim's kids go to Entheos...Karter Kaitlynn and Kamden Moysh. Maybe you've crossed paths?

Way to go Marcy! I love that you started with you bedroom. Mine is usually the last place to be really clean and uncluttered since no one ever sees it. So today you were my inspiration and my bedroom is clean! (just don't look at the kitchen yet) :)

Marcy, thank you for posting and welcome to Projects! You sound so fascinating to me: theater, jazzercize, antigravity yoga and digital art?! Very, very cool!! I am so going to follow you on Instagram! :-). Love the de-clutter and sugar goals. Go girl!!!!

Welcome! I'm intrigued about your yoga class. Hard and relaxing at the same time? Sounds cool. I like that you tackle your room first. If I don't take pride in my room, how can I expect my kids to do the same with theirs? (Never mind that their stuff always makes it to my room.) :)
