Just so everyone knows... I can't get into my google account so I
can't comment or reply to your comments. I send Nora my posts and she
then posts for me. I have enjoyed reading your posts and appreciate
your support to me as well.
During February I decided to
share the love by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. The first week
was a tangible HUGE success! I invited one of my piano students to come
to New beginnings with us which was the next day. To my surprise she
was excited and accepted the invitation. her grandfather (who raises her
as her father) was deeply touched by the invitation. She attended
with us and enjoyed herself so much that she now attends weekly
activities with us.
We prayed as a family to know who we should share the gospel with and unitedly felt inspired to share the gospel with my sons friend. Matthew has taken on the responsibility of sharing his testimony and inviting. I went to be done night and on my bedside table was an envelope with a note on it that said "Matthews mission fund". There was $25 in it. My heart was filled because I know that he doesn't have a lot of opportunities to earn as much money this time of year but his desire is to keep adding to his fund. I feel like this desire came as a direct result of his participation in the February focus on missionary work.
I had
some crazy Jill moments where I was spreading gospel principles and gods
love to complete strangers. My favorite one was in the grocery store.
There was a young man around the age of twenty. He was buying
cigarettes: I told him I was standing there representing his mother.
He said that his mom smoked too. I then told him that was the reason
his mom knew for sure it wasn't a good idea for him to smoke and buy
those cigarettes. He paused and finally smiled before admitting that it
was true. I then told him not to worry that God loves him no matter
what.
There are so many awesome things that
happened during February and are still happening this month. We are
commuted to hastening the work!
So here's one of me and my dog. |
I didn't know how to take pictures of us sharing the gospel or of us praying for missionary experiences (that seems a little or a lot wrong). But I tried for a hot momma selfie.... It ended up with the iron in the background.... So much for being hot!! |

Love it Jill. I'm impressed with all the fronts you saw, to sharing about word of wisdom and Mathew saving money. It's the yw that have great programs that are so inviting, right? Hot mamma selfie, so hot and your dog looks so loved! Annice has that kind of dog too.
What a goal! And how wonderful that your invitation was accepted by your piano student to come to New Beginnings. And for her to continue to come! You must have been beaming. Inspirational for me. :)
Way to follow the prophet! Love it! Keep us posted!
That's amazing! I don't know if I'd have the guts to keep a stranger from buying cigarettes. That's very impressive. I do know that praying for missionary opportunities is a sure way to GET missionary opportunities! Keep it up!
I love your grocery store story... so bold! Way to go!
