Here are my before picture:
So my first step was putting up the bead board. I only put it half way up the wall and behind the toilet. I mostly just managed this part of the project which means I told my husband what to do and where to cut and held the board up while he used the nail gun. It was still fun, I'm pretty good and telling him what to do.
Next I painted. I am determined to make this project as cheap as possible so I used some left over paint from painting my baby's room last year. It turned out just perfect and I am amazed at how paint can look different from room to room. I found a great light fixture for $30.00 and again managed (watched) as my husband put it up.
That is as far as I got. My next step is to re stain the cabinets and then frame the mirror. I did get a new shower curtain though and I am dreaming of the day that this bathroom will be put back together again. I will keep you posted.
March goal: no yelling for 30 days. Yikes.

Hooray! Bead board is huge and reusing paint from a different project; brilliant! I'm always the manager in home projects. The job title has been affectionately called "quality control". Good luck on the rest of your bathroom, it's going to look amazing. Can't wait to see the shower curtain too.
It looks great!! I love the bead board! I am hoping to do my kids bath soon as well
Frame the mirror? What a great idea! I just got rid of the smaller, fancier mirror in our bathroom and replaced it with a large, plain one. How do you frame it? How do you make it stick? You should update this post when it all gets finished! I'd love to see it!
I love the bead board. That alone can transform a room. And I think remodeling even just a bathroom is a big undertaking. So kudos to you for getting the ball rolling.
What a blessing your husband has "fixit skills." I love the bead board!
I love it, it looks beautiful! Love your get-your-husband-to-do-it-for-you style!
The bead board looks amazing! It totally transforms the room! Bathrooms are such big projects. I've done the whole sand down the vanity and stain it. It will be so nice when it's all put together! Way to go!
Love the beadboard accent!
I too love beadboard. It looks great!
Beautiful progress! Can't wait to see the finished product complete with the fun new shower curtain.
