April & May Goal Progress: Lose Weight

My goal for this month is actually a goal for the whole year. I've put everything to the side and have been super focused on losing 50 pounds this year! It all started because I felt like crap, and knew I needed to change! The second reason was that my husband started working overnights and I had the time without feeling guilty for not hanging out with him!

The first step was changing my diet. I realized through doctor's, testing, and my family's history that I am probably gluten intolerant/celiac and lactose intolerant. I cut out everything in my diet and started fresh. I cut out gluten, dairy, sugar and pop. I had to say goodbye to my wendy's asiago chicken sandwich and that was super depressing for me. ;)

My second step was starting up a work out routine. I dropped about 15 lbs on changing my diet alone. I always get to that plateau and quit. I joined Goodlife where a bunch of my friends go. I joined on May 11th, and have done 17 workouts in 21 days! I took off running, and am never looking back! I really enjoy BodyPump and CXWORX classes. I feel awesome when I can lift a ton of weight at class! Last week I hit a huge milestone and realized I've lost 30 lbs and about 22 (ish) inches.

My biggest goal I had in my head was that I wanted to look smoking hot in a bikini by the time we go to Mexico in November. I did a test run last weekend and went away with my husband and wore my bikini. It felt liberating, and I couldn't believe how comfortable I felt.

Here are some progress pictures I've taken over the past couple months. My goal for next month is to get really comfortable in spin class where I don't feel comfortable AT ALL! My bum still hurts from last night.

See you guys next month! (This was supposed to be for May, but I'm late to the party)

This was from the beginning of February until last week! I noticed a huge change in my legs.

Looking smokin' hot in a bikini has never been a goal for me, but Your progress is impressive. Yes, your legs look great, but also your smile, you look happier. Way to go Melissa. May eating better and exercise be ever in your favor. (watched hunger games last week)

Way to go! That takes so much work and dedication. I've also decided to cut out wheat and dairy for now (have you heard of whole 30? You cut those out for 30 days and then add them back in to see if you have a reaction). So I applaud you, it's hard to say no to those yummy foods that are not so good for us isn't it!
