June meant finishing school, packing up, and moving home for the summer. I got back home to Canada in the middle of June and after a few weeks of recuperation, I started my summer job. I work for my dad's construction company doing manual labor at one of the sites in the northernmost part of the city. The drive takes about 40 minutes each way, but I love not having to apply for jobs/interview/worry about resumes. It's been about a month of work and I'm going some good experience. Being the only girl around was expected, and it's not too bad. I'm mostly sweeping up sawdust and dirt and dodging electricians as I clean. It takes a lot of motivation to get up and going since the days are long and repetitive, but audiobooks are saving me! (I finished Billy Crystals's autobiography which is so fun and "All The Lights We Cannot See" which is absolutely stunning.) One more month and I'll be back at school and with dolla bills in my pocket.

I remember summer days working with my Grandpa on construction sites. Such memories! And you really do learn how to work hard. I love books on tape too. We are currently listening to Inkheart in the car and just want to keep driving so I can keep listening. It's so fun!
Hurray for being around beauty being built! Those houses are gorgeous! Love "books on tape" as I've always called them. I really should look into putting them on my phone. And good thing this work comes with a pay check, it looks tough!
